Description
One of Calgary's most popular parks, Prince's Island is located in the city's core by Eau Claire Market on the Bow River. The park hosts many music festivals throughout the summer as well as outdoor theatre performances in the evenings. There is an extensive trail that runs through the park and along the Bow, popular with joggers, walkers, cyclists and rollerbladers. A children's park is onsite and large grassy spaces are perfect for relaxing in the sun or a game of frisbee.

An initiative of Aga Khan Foundation Canada, the Walk is a meaningful way for you to be part of the solution to global poverty. 100% of funds raised go directly to poverty alleviating programs, including health, education, rural development and supporting community-based organizations.
The walk is a fun, family event. Find out about Canada’s role in international development at the Global Village, enjoy beats from around the world at the World Music Playoffs, and take steps towards social change along a 5K route. Theatre Calgary & Mount Royal Unviersity present the 25th Anniversary of SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK in Prince's Island Park. Shakespeare's timeless comedy, A MDISUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM is brought to life with modern, family-friendly twists. The show runs June 27-Aug. 11, 2012. Showtimes (weather permitting) are Wed.-Sun. @ 7pm, with weekend matinees @ 2pm. The performance runs approx. 90 minutes. Admission is pay-what-you-can. Note: there will be no performances June 30, July 1, & the week of July 23-29.
