Each year millions of visitors from around the world come to Calgary to partake in the annual event, the Calgary Stampede. Enjoy real rodeos, a midway, shows, and much, much, more. The city of Calgary is transformed for ten days into town celebrating the cowboy culture. Visitors will enjoy the atmosphere and friendly attitude of the locals. Next Stampede is held July 6-15, 2012.

Indian Village

Indian Village celebrates the history and culture of the First Nations people and is held during the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede. Visitors can enjoy a traditional Pow Wow with a First Nations dance competition featuring dancers in full, colourful regalia. A drumming competition also takes place. Other activities at Indian Village includes cultural demonstrations, interpretive displays, 27 tipis, traditional crafts and jewelry for sale, and a bannock booth selling traditional treats made from dough. The village has been an integral part of the Calgary Stampede since 1912. Entrance is included in Stampede gate admission.
Stampede Parade

Kick off the Stampede with the traditional parade and enjoy bands, beautifully decorated floats, celebrities and cultural entries. The route winds through downtown Calgary and begins at 9am.
Calgary Stampede Caravan Pancake Breakfasts

A Calgary Stampede tradition since 1976, Caravan Pancake Breakfasts serve up a free meal along with entertainment and activities. Enjoy flapjacks, beef sausages, juice and friendly service. Along with live musical entertainment, there are children's pony rides, petting zoo, face painting, Native hoop dancing demos, trick rope show and more.
