"Compliments to staff on treatment"

June 2011 — "I suffered a TIA on June 8, 2011 and received treatment at the Foothills over the 8,9 and 10th. The staff in emergency, the 11th and 10th floors were in my opinion exemplary in their treatment of me. My thanks and compliments to those involved in my treatment. The staff on the 11th and 10th floors were excellent in my care over the 9th and 10th. "

"Christmas miracle"

December 2009 — "My sister should not be alive, but the excellent care given to her when she came to the ER, in ICU for 2 weeks, then up on the neuro ward has been out-standing. The physicians, nurses and other team members have been so professional and kind. She continues to receive efficient care and we the family cant thankyou enough. No hospital is perfect and not without its issues, but the staff still put people first. Thankyou so much. "

"Patient Nurses"

August 2008 — "I was visiting my uncle in the hospital when a nurse came into the room to give him some medication. She was very friendly, greeting us and letting us know what she was doing. I watched as she answered my uncle's questions and she was really patient with him. My uncle is not fluent in English but she was able to communicate with him and put him at ease. I was really impressed by the attention and care she provided. "

"Good Care"

October 2007 — "My mom recently spent almost two weeks at the Foothills Hospital. For the most part the staff was friendly and answered questions whenever possible. The only drawbacks we experienced was the time a nurse gave my mom someone else's medication. It was nothing serious but the nurse made it seem like it was my mom's fault. The nurse checked my mom's vitals and then left a couple of pills on the counter beside my mom, which is what she usually did after checking her vitals. The nurse left the room and my mom assumed those were her pills and took them but they weren't. I don't see how my mom could be blamed for that? Anyway, she received pretty good care compared to some of the other horror stories I've heard from other people. One thing the hospital should consider improving is how much they charge for parking. It's quite sad how they make money off people's misfortunes."

The Foothills Hospital operates in partnership with several local medical facilities including the University of Calgary (Faculty of Medicine), the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Grace Women's Heatlth Centre. The hospital has 700 beds and also features a 24-hour emergency department.
