June 2008 — "I know people don't need persuading to visit this world-famous lake, but I just wanted to say that every time I visit it (at least 4 times so far) it never ceases to astonish me. The water is absolutely mesmerizing--a luminescent almost milky turquoise colour is the closest I can get to describing it. It almost seems to glow. With the glacier rising above at the far end of the lake, and the surrounding mountain peaks and forest, Lake Louise is stunning. And despite the crowds of people, you can't help but feel that you've discovered a special secret. There's an easy stroll around one edge of the lake, a short hike leading up the mountain to a viewpoint over the lake, fun (but quite expensive) canoe rentals, and of course the impressive Chateau Lake Louise, which must have one of the most incredible hotel locations in Canada."

July 2007 — "This famous lakes hardly needs any recommendation but regardless of what you expect, when you go, the crowds that join you, it really is stunning. I've seen it both in summer (when the water is the beautiful turquoise but the crowds are a little overwhelming) and winter (when the lake is frozen so you miss the turquoise effect but get to see people playing hockey on the ice and the chateau is not only less crowded for a walk around but is decked out in Christmas decorations). No matter the season, Lake Louise is cool!"
