July 2008 — "I have been to Banff several times over the years, but this past summer I went to Johnston Canyon for the first time. We hiked to the lower falls and were blown away with how beautiful it was. The walk to the falls was scenic, but the waterfall at the end was extremely photogenic. Deep blue mountain fresh water flowed from the towering waterfall, which was captivating. I bet Johnston Canyon would be quite spectacular to see in the winter as well."

BulletDescription

Located along Highway 1A in the Bow Valley Parkway, the waterfalls at Johnston Canyon consist of the Upper Falls and the Lower Falls. The Lower Falls are about 20 m (66 ft) high and can be viewed from a platform while the Upper Falls are about 40 m (131 ft) high and can also be viewed on a wooden platform built over the creek. The Upper Falls are also a popular ice-climbing site during the winter.
