May 2007 — "We took a day-trip out to Bow Valley Provincial Park this weekend and were thoroughly impressed by the trails and the beautiful scenery. Since it was the beginning of May, it was not busy at all. We went and hiked around the lake and had a picnic there without running into anyone. Some parts of the trail were right in the forest and it truly felt like a magical forest with bits of light coming through the trees and verdant moss covering the ground... you have to go there to experience it. We also took a drive around the campground and have decided to return in the near future. It's beautiful! There are some sites right on the Bow River! I was surprised to see that some people were already tent camping... it's really quite chilly at night in May!! We will definitely be going back to the park to either camp or hike in the very near future. Our dog loved the lake too, and the views of the mountains were stunning. The best thing of all is that it took just 45 minutes to get there from Calgary!"
