September 2009 — "The Ghost Lake Campground is located just off of HWY 1A adjacent to Ghost Lake. I thought this would be a good site to stay at for a last minute camping trip since it's so close to Calgary. I was wrong. The campsite is located just off of the highway so it was a bit noisy at night from all the traffic. This site also provides a good stop for RV's because of its convenient location. As a result, it was generally really loud from all the parked vehicles and people blasting up their music. In the middle of the night, you can clearly hear the train going by (sometimes blasting their horn) south of the site. It wasn't too bad but not the best. The actually camp sites for setting up your tent is located up a series of small hills overlooking the lake. The sites themselves were generally on the smaller side but they were nice. The cost per night is $20. There are two outhouses and no shower facilities on site. This campsite is best for people into water sports and quick stop overs. For a quiet nice campground, it's best to head a bit north."

July 2008 — "If your staying in Calgary and want to go boating, this is the place to do it. It is about a 30 minute drive out of the city, so it's easy to just spend the day. The lake is quite large and provides room for a lot of boats. They water is a little bit cold, but that isn't a problem for avid boaters. It can be a little bit windy (many people sail), but if you go under the bridge their is a smaller, more sheltered area that offers great water skiing conditions."
