Taking place at the Heritage Amphitheatre in Hawrelak Park, the event will deliver a powerhouse of rock music superstars including Blue Oyster Cult, April Wine, Trooper, Kenny Shields and Streetheart, Prism, Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts, and more.
On the entertainment front, Canadian legends Kenny Shields and Streetheart, and Prism, will hit the stage on Friday night, along with local act, Full Born. Featuring some all-time classic rock favorites, the bands pay tribute to their long-standing careers with hits such as Under My Thumb, Action, Here Comes the Night, What Kind of Love is This, Spaceship Superstar, Take Me to the Kaptin, Armageddon and many more.
On Saturday, the iconic Blue Oyster Cult, April Wine, Trooper, and Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts will dazzle fans in the style of shows that rocked arenas in days gone by. It will be a full day of jam-packed, throw-back rock and roll and doesn’t get any better. Local acts Sean Sonego and The Recollection Blues Band will get the party started.
Proceeds from the Edmonton Rock Music Festival will benefit the society’s Centre for Art & Music (CAM). Launched in 2010, the centre’s programs are mentoring a new generation of musicians with a special focus on at-risk youth.
Tickets are $39 for Friday, $49 for Saturday, or $75 for a two-day pass, in advance ($49, $59, and $90, respectively, at the gate). You may purchase tickets online or at On the Rocks (11740 - Jasper Ave.), The Acoustic Music Shop (9934 - 82 Ave.), and Myhre's Music (8735 - 118 Ave.).
