One of Rockland's many public spaces, Harbor Park is situated on the public landing of the city's harbor and is home to special events throughout the year, the most well known of which is the Maine Lobster Festival in July or August.

It's difficult to miss the focus of the Maine Lobster Festival but even so, festival organizers don't leave it to chance and serve over 20,000 lbs (9,000 kg) of fresh lobster at the five-day event. The festival has been running for over 60 years and also features Maine arts and crafts, marine and navy tours, cooking contests, crate races, a parade, live entertainment and heaps upon heaps of fresh seafood.
