The Works Art & Design Festival
Since 1986, The Works Art & Design Festival has provided a dynamic environment to advance the development, awareness and appreciation of the visual arts in Canada, and to develop a forum for the exchange of ideas between the artists and the public. The Works Art & Design Festival is unique to North America, attracting artists and patrons from around the world, boosting the energy and imagination of Alberta’s capital city for 13 days each summer. The Works is an innovative Free event, that continues to expand in and draw an audience that represents all ages and interests. The Festival animates one square mile of Downtown Edmonton by transforming public spaces into alternative galleries and welcoming the community into the world of visual art and design.

One square kilometer will be overcome with visual art, design, and entertainment. Completely free, the Festival attracts artists and patrons from around the world. Join one of the three daily tours to learn about exhibits, reflect on experiences, and engage in conversation. The Works is North America’s largest free outdoor art & design festival: the perfect place to discover, discuss, and develop an appreciation for art & design. The Festival includes exhibits in multiple venues downtown and around Edmonton, live performances on The Works Street Stage from noon – 9:30 p.m. every day, and over 200 special events, including tours, receptions, and demonstrations. Edmonton International Street Performers Festival
You are invited to Sir Winston Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton for another Hysterical & Hilarious Edmonton International Street Performers Festival. Home to over 1500 Exciting & Entertaining outdoor performances by musicians, jugglers, acrobats and unicyclists, StreetFest is proud to present another ten days of international street artists.

Children of all ages will enjoy the Colourful & Comical face-painters and rovers, as well as the Be Your Own Busker Workshops and Kids’ World activities. Riproarin’ & Rambunctious good times flow into the evening with Indoor Late Night Madness performances and daily Troupe du Jour group shows.
Rock The Square Festival
This free, non-profit music festival promotes the best of Edmonton rock bands and welcomes summer.
Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life
Join hundreds of people in a fun 5km walk through the streets of downtown Edmonton in the fight against HIV! There will be live entertainment, a pancake breakfast, amazing prizes for top fundraisers and spirit, and much more!

Each year, hundreds of thousands of Canadians participate in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure and help to raise funds for important breast cancer research, education and advocacy initiatives.

Register to run or walk 1k or 5k on Sunday, October 4, 2015. Every step you take and every dollar you raise helps the CIBC Run for the Cure fund the kind of vital research and programs that are creating a future without breast cancer.
