Tallgrass Prairie Preserve

The Tallgrass Prairie Preserve north of Pawhuska is owned and managed by the Nature Conservancy and is one of the largest tracts of remaining tallgrass prairie in the world. The preserve is home to over 2,000 bison and features scenic turnouts, hiking trails, picnic tables, breezeway information and public restrooms at its historic bunkhouse. Open year round, no admittance fee. Visitor center and bookshop open March through November.
