October 2005 — "I'm not particularly interested in weaponry but as this is perhaps Leed's most well known museum, I had a look while living there and found it fascinating. The huge collection can be a bit overwhelming if trying to view it all - five floors of weaponry from around the globe spanning 3,000 years - but massive centre exhibits on each level bring perspective to the armor and weapons and the collection is well designed and displayed, particularly the circular multi-level room of swords viewed from the glass elevator. If you're on a quick tour of England, there are other more significant museums and galleries to see but if you have more than a day in Leeds, the Royal Armories are should be included with the Corn Exchange and the Victoria Quarter for a taste of what Leeds has to offer. "

The Royal Armouries Leeds contains the national collections of arms and armour. Five galleries are filled with items relating to war, self- defence, hunting, tournament play and armor of the Orient. Items from the Tower of London arsenal, including King Henry VIII's foot combat armor are on display, as well as paintings and drawings of the arms theme.
