Opened in May 1996, the new Icefield Centre is a beautiful chalet-style stone building created to serve half a million visitors every year. This facility is of an environmentally sensitive design. Relax in the dining room, the cafeteria or the snack bar, visit the expanded gift shop, and stop by the new and expanded Parks Canada Interpretive Centre. Improved parking and restroom facilities have been added for comfort and convenience. This is also the base for the Brewster Ice Explorer tour onto the Columbia glacier.
