October 2007 — "Apparently there are coyotes, deer, ground squirrels and other creatures thriving in this park, but we didn't see any. There are supposed to be scores of native plants and trees too, and I'm sure there are, but all we saw were a few scrubby bushes and skeletal trees in an otherwise barren space. I wouldn't call it a beautiful or scenic park, although I suppose it's quite dramatic as a wind-swept hill, and it offers an impressive distant view of Calgary and the Rockies stretching out west. I appreciate the park for being a natural reserve, but for those thinking of heading out to commune with nature in a leafier environment I'd suggest somewhere like Glenmore Reserve instead. "

August 2007 — "Nose hill is a nice enough park depending on what you are looking for. It definitely caters to runners, cyclists and dog walkers, as there is a ton of open space and a few pathways. However, by no means is it the type of park you go to read and relax, or kick a ball around (Prince's Island Park is much better for this type of thing)."

A large hill in the middle of Calgary, Nose Hill Park is 1127 hectares (2818 acres) of natural environment. It is the largest municipal park in Canada. There are a few trails throughout, most mainly made by years of people treading the same ground, making it popular with walkers and mountain bikers. The park provides a look at what the land known today as Calgary may have looked like at one time, featuring over 66 native plant species, such as crocus, sage, golden bean and rough rescue, which is considered endangered. Wildlife also thrives; there are approximately 200 identified species.
